The Hanbury Method · Six Pillars
The Six Pillars of Health & the Hanbury Method.
Six pillars of health, one method, one team, everything that affects your body treated together, not passed between people who never talk.
The problem
Care that’s joined up, not passed around.
If you’ve had a problem that keeps coming back, you know the pattern: a physiotherapist, a GP, a scan, a personal trainer — each seeing one piece, none of them talking to each other, and you left to join it up. Hanbury was built the other way round: one team, one plan, one method, across everything that affects how your body works.
Four founding directors — a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, physiotherapists and a movement specialist — working to one shared plan. Built on Physix (physiotherapy, since 1998) and Yogomotiv (movement, since 2016).

The system
One coordinated system: six pillars, one method.
The Six Pillars are what we look after — the full range of what determines your health. The Hanbury Method is how we make measurable progress across them. Every pathway — physiotherapy, Reformer Pilates and Yoga, recovery, Healthspan medicine, performance testing — runs on the same method and works across several pillars at once, because a body doesn’t separate its systems the way a list does.
The Six Pillars
What are the Six Pillars of Health?
No single pillar works alone, and no programme targets just one.
- 01
Move
Strength, mobility, rehabilitation, functional training.
What it means for you: the strength and mobility to stop the same injury returning.
- 02
Fuel
Nutrition, metabolic health, gut health, blood sugar.
What it means for you: how well your body actually uses what you give it, measured, not guessed.
- 03
Energise
Cardiovascular health, breathwork, endurance, circulation.
What it means for you: the aerobic fitness behind your energy, your stamina and your long-term heart health.
- 04
Connect
Mental health, cognition, emotional wellbeing, purpose.
What it means for you: how you think, sleep and feel, measured, because it drives the physical as much as it follows it.
- 05
Recover
Sleep, restoration, thermal recovery, circadian health.
What it means for you: recovering properly between demands, instead of running yourself down.
- 06
Restore
Hormonal health, cellular health, environmental factors, toxic load.
What it means for you: the slower changes measured early, before they become problems.
The Hanbury Method
How the Hanbury Method works.
The Hanbury Method is a four-stage process — Test, Train, Track, Transform — repeated over time, so progress is measured, not assumed.
- 01
Test
A measurable baseline: force-plate testing, biomarkers, movement analysis. Nothing assumed.
- 02
Train
Targeted work built on what the baseline showed, not a generic programme.
- 03
Track
Scheduled re-testing against your own numbers. Progress checked, not hoped for.
- 04
Transform
You stop reacting to the same problem on repeat. Progress that holds.
Why us
Why Hanbury is different.
- 01
One team, one plan.
Your physiotherapist can flag something for medical review the same week, and your Pilates or recovery sessions are prescribed as part of the plan, not booked at random. Nothing falls through the gap between providers.
- 02
Clinically grounded, as a team.
Every programme is reviewed against a consultant-level clinical standard, bringing orthopaedic surgical, physiotherapy and movement expertise together. Professor Arul Ramasamy (Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, PhD, 100+ peer-reviewed papers) is one of four founding directors, each an expert in their field.
- 03
Measured, then re-measured.
The same team that finds something treats it, then re-tests to prove it changed, using VALD force-plate testing, biomarkers and movement analysis, not guesswork.
- 04
Built on real expertise.
Physix (physiotherapy, Milton Keynes since 1998) and Yogomotiv (movement, since 2016), established teams, same directors, same clients, now under one roof.
- 05
Capability, not dependency.
The aim is to make you more capable over time, and need us less, not to keep you coming back.
In their words
“Physix have enabled me to make transformative improvements. I no longer suffer any back pain, and my golf has improved dramatically!”
The payoff
What this means for you.
You stop repeating your story to people who don’t talk to each other. You stop reacting to the same problem on repeat. You get a plan built on what your body is actually doing — measured, coordinated, and adjusted as you go. That’s what health, built for the long run, looks like in practice.
