Who this is for

For a body that has changed, and asks to be worked with carefully.

Most people who move well here are somewhere between their late thirties and their sixties. They are working through something that has settled in, an old injury that keeps reappearing, a joint or an area of the back that no longer tolerates what it used to, or the quieter shifts that come with a demanding stretch of life.

The sessions are built around that. Load is measured, progressions are chosen with care, and the room is calm, a place to work honestly with the body you have today, alongside people doing much the same.

“There is no sense of ‘competition’, you are encouraged to do what feels right for you & your body. Apart from the fact that the instructors are really friendly & helpful, the whole atmosphere there is relaxed & informal.”

Connected to your wider care

Movement that sits inside the rest of your care.

Instructors here work alongside Hanbury’s physiotherapy and diagnostics team. It means the class you take on a Tuesday is aware of the rehabilitation you did on the Monday, and the assessment that shaped both.

You don't have to work out for yourself what is safe, what to avoid or how your class fits with everything else you're doing.

  • 01

Instructors briefed by the wider team

If you are already being seen elsewhere at Hanbury, your instructor knows what has been assessed, what is settling and what to keep an eye on, before you step into the room.

  • 02

Sessions adjusted around what is going on

A joint that flares, an area still calming down, a movement that isn't ready yet, load, range and progression are set to fit what your body can do today.

  • 03

    One plan, not parallel plans

What happens in class is coordinated with the rest of your training and recovery, so the work builds in the same direction.

  • 04

A route in if something changes

If something new appears, pain that doesn't settle, a movement that doesn't feel right, the physiotherapy and diagnostics team are in the same building, on the same records.

This is the practical difference between a standalone studio and a class taught inside an integrated approach to health.

“I love my classes at Yogomotiv, run by qualified professionals. I'm recovering from a bulging disc and needed somewhere I felt understood, and Yogomotiv certainly do. Everything about the studio is welcoming and calming and the instructors are nothing short of brilliant.”

Reformer Pilates

Build strength you can rely on, mobility you can use and greater confidence in the way your body moves. Reformer Pilates gives you support where you need it and progression when you're ready, so you can become stronger without feeling like you have to push through discomfort or keep up with anyone else.

Every new Reformer client begins with an intro session before joining regular classes, so the plan fits how you actually move today, updated as that changes.

How it can help

  • 01

    Joint-friendly rehabilitation

The reformer supports body weight through the springs, making it a considered option for people returning from injury, surgery or a long break from training.

  • 02

    Better posture and alignment

Structured cueing retrains how you sit, stand and load through the spine, easing the tension patterns behind long hours at a desk.

  • 03

    Mobility with control

Range of motion is trained alongside stability, so hips, shoulders and thoracic spine move well.

  • 04

    Core strength that holds up

Deep abdominal and pelvic floor engagement built through controlled, spring-loaded resistance, strength you can carry into daily movement.

  • 05

    Balance and coordination

Working across planes and against changing resistance sharpens proprioception, useful for runners, gym-goers and anyone navigating midlife change.

  • 06

    Calm, focused headspace

Breath-led, deliberate work, a break from noise that lands as clarity.

Sessions are taught by experts who work alongside the wider Hanbury Health team, so what happens on the reformer is coordinated with the rest of your training, recovery and long-term plan.

How it can help

Bodyweight work on the floor, low load, considered progressions, and a gentle way back in for anyone returning from an old issue or a long break.

  • 02

    Posture and alignment

Questions

Reformer Pilates & Yoga FAQs

Wear something you can move and breathe in comfortably. Most people choose fitted or relaxed layers. Yoga and Pilates are practised barefoot, and the room is kept at a steady temperature, so a light layer you can remove is usually enough.
