Performance Blueprint

You train by feel. Start training by data.

Three tiers, each measuring more of what actually drives your performance, body composition, metabolism, cardio fitness and strength, read together by an expert, not printed out by an app.

From £197

Why this is different

Four things a smartwatch, an InBody or a gym assessment can't do.

01

Measured, not guessed.

Predictive calorie formulas can be off by hundreds of kilocalories a day, and a smartwatch's estimate of your training zones can have you working in the wrong zone for months without knowing. Direct testing takes the guess out.

02

What a hidden imbalance can cost you.

A 14% side-to-side difference in lower-limb power is the kind of imbalance associated with a significantly increased risk of hamstring and ACL injury, and the kind of finding a PT's own testing, or a generic gym assessment, has no way to surface.

03

Interpreted by a named expert, same day.

Results are read with you by the same physiotherapy team already trusted on this site, in the same appointment. You leave knowing your numbers and what they mean, not waiting on a report to make sense of on your own.

04

A plan, not a one-off.

Level 3 includes a 12-week periodised training plan and Hanbury's Recovery Protocol, connecting straight into the physiotherapy, movement and recovery pathways already offered here, the same closed-loop principle as every other Hanbury service.

What it measures

Four domains. Real testing technology, described for what it actually does.

Each tool is named and described for what it genuinely measures.

Styku 3D body composition scan at Hanbury Health, Milton Keynes
01 · Composition

Body composition.

Styku 3D body scan

A full-body scan giving body-fat and lean mass, a segmental breakdown and circumferences. The current Styku model derives body composition using models validated against DXA; in peer-reviewed studies it shows close agreement with DXA for fat mass and lean mass, with near-perfect scan-to-scan reproducibility (test-retest reliability approaching 0.99). A validated, DXA-comparable measurement that is excellent for tracking change, while noting it is not a DXA itself, so DXA remains the reference method.

All levels

uVida resting metabolic rate testing at Hanbury Health, Milton Keynes
02 · Metabolism

Metabolism.

UVIDA resting metabolic rate · VO₂ max

UVIDA metabolic testing, resting metabolic rate at Level 1, extended on Level 2+ with a breath-by-breath exercise test, taken to exhaustion, that measures your VO₂ max directly and sets your personal training zones. The UVIDA (DYNOSTICS) analyser is the same class of breath-by-breath technology used in sports-science laboratories; in a validation study its readings closely matched a laboratory reference system, with peak oxygen-uptake values differing by around 1% on average. This is a direct, measured VO2 max, not a smartwatch or formula estimate.

Level 1 · Level 2 (adds VO₂max) · Level 3

VALD ForceDecks force plates used for objective strength testing at Hanbury Health, Milton Keynes
03 · Strength & power

Strength & power.

VALD ForceDecks · VALD ForceFrame · grip strength

VALD ForceDecks jump and power testing captures how much force each leg produces and how symmetrical it is. VALD ForceFrame measures maximal isometric strength, a controlled push against a fixed frame rather than one-rep-max lifting, so it's usable for anyone returning after injury, pregnancy or a break. Grip strength is included.

Level 3 only

Markerless 3D motion capture assessment during physiotherapy at Hanbury Health, Milton Keynes
04 · Movement quality

Movement quality.

VALD HumanTrak markerless motion capture

VALD HumanTrak markerless movement capture reads squat and single-leg mechanics, balance and gait, how you actually move, not just how you look moving. Where the numbers surface an imbalance, it feeds directly into the plan.

Led by

Every assessment is read by the people who run it.

You leave the appointment having spoken with the same expert who read your numbers, in the same room they were measured in.

Nick Allen, Co-Founder and Director of Physiotherapy at Hanbury Health
Lead assessment expert

Nick Allen

Chartered Physiotherapist · MCSP · HCPC

Runs the assessment battery in the room with you, the person calibrating your jump test, capturing your movement, and reading your numbers as they come off the equipment, not after the fact.

Simon Jones, Co-Founder and Director of Physiotherapy at Hanbury Health
Assessment expert

Simon Jones

Chartered Physiotherapist · MCSP · HCPC

Co-leads the strength, power and movement stations. His interpretation of the same result as yours sits alongside Nick's, one number, read twice, before it lands in your report.

This isn't a spreadsheet of numbers. It's what they mean for you.

Your day, timed by level

One appointment, structured end to end.

The order is deliberate, movement-quality screening on Level 3 is done first, while you're fresh, so the reading isn't distorted by fatigue from the strength stations.

In their words

What our members say.

Verified patient reviews from Google

First time with Louise, who I saw with a shoulder injury. She made me feel at ease and went into a lot of detail and certainly put across she knew what she was talking about. She spent the time listening to me without me feeling like I was being rushed. Excellent result and no hesitation in recommending her.

Blueprint FAQs

An InBody or a gym assessment gives you one snapshot from one machine, usually read by whoever's on shift. Performance Blueprint measures four things, body composition (Styku 3D), metabolism (UVIDA resting rate and VO₂ max), strength and power (VALD), and movement quality (VALD HumanTrak), read together by the same expert who ran the tests. What a smartwatch or a gym scale estimates, this measures directly.

This is the one page where four pillars , Recover, Fuel, Energise and Move, are measured and scored directly, rather than just referenced.

It's also the Hanbury Method in practice: Test, the assessment itself; Train, the 12-week periodised plan at Level 3; Track, progress re-tested against your original numbers; Transform, training that's actually working, not just training.

Stop estimating. Start measuring.

Three tiers. One appointment. The number a smartwatch or a gym scale can't give you, and an expert to read it with you.
