Co-Founder & Medical Director · Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
Prof Arul Ramasamy
MA (Cantab) · PhD · MBA (Distinction) · FRCS(Tr+Orth) · FFSEM · DipSportsMed
Professor Arul Ramasamy is a co-founder of Hanbury Health and its Medical Director. His job here is to hold the clinical standard: every programme, every plan, and every piece of guidance we publish is built on evidence and reviewed for safety before it reaches you. He also medically reviews all of Hanbury's health content.
He is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, trained in Medicine at Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge, and holds a PhD in Bioengineering from Imperial College London, where he is Clinical Lead for the Centre for Injury Studies and a Visiting Professor. He was appointed Defence Professor of Trauma and Orthopaedics by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, and secured more than £5.3 million in research grants. He is also a Colonel in the British Army with operational service in Iraq, Afghanistan and Mali, and continues to practise as a foot and ankle surgeon at Mercury Foot and Ankle.
That background shapes how Hanbury works. The principle he brings is simple and consistent: good outcomes come from good foundations. Strengthen the foundations first, whether that is sleep, movement, strength or rehabilitation, and treatment becomes the adjunct that supports them, not a shortcut that replaces them. It is an approach built to make you more capable over time, with progress you can measure, rather than more reliant on any single intervention.

Co-Founder & Director of Movement (Yoga & Pilates)
Sarah Ramasamy
Founder of Yogomotiv · 20+ years in movement and rehabilitation
Sarah Ramasamy is a co-founder of Hanbury Health and leads its movement side: yoga, mat Pilates and reformer Pilates. Hanbury's movement expertise is built directly on Yogomotiv, the Milton Keynes studio Sarah founded in 2016 and grew into an award-winning name in Buckinghamshire, recognised as Pilates Studio of the Year and winner of the Best Customer Service Award in 2020, and a Service Excellence finalist in 2019. Yogomotiv is now part of Hanbury Health, and its clients are Hanbury clients.
Her route into this work is the reason it is different. After more than twenty years teaching across the fitness industry, and living with a hip condition since birth that led to a hip replacement in her thirties, Sarah found that yoga and Pilates did what nothing else had: they worked as genuine pre- and post-rehabilitation, not just exercise. She spent the following years learning how the body behaves when it is in dysfunction rather than simply unfit, because the two are not the same and should not be taught the same way.
What she built from that is a way of moving designed for real people working through real things: an old injury that keeps returning, a joint that no longer tolerates what it used to, or the quieter shifts of a demanding stretch of life. It is movement prescribed alongside the wider Hanbury team, informed by what the physiotherapists and the medical side are seeing, so a class becomes part of your plan rather than a thing you do separately from it.

Co-Founder & Director of Physiotherapy
Nick Allen
BSc (Hons) · HCPC-registered · MCSP · Chartered Physiotherapist
Nick Allen is a co-founder of Hanbury Health and a director of its physiotherapy service. Hanbury's physiotherapy is built on Physix, the Milton Keynes practice established in 1998 and now part of Hanbury Health, where Nick and Simon Jones lead the clinical team.
A chartered physiotherapist since 2010, Nick holds postgraduate qualifications in advanced practice, strength and conditioning, manual therapy and acupuncture. He has worked across the NHS and private sector, including as Clinical Service Manager for Connect Health. In sport he has been physiotherapist to London Wasps, Bedford Blues and Ampthill rugby clubs, and since 2021 he has been Head of Medical Services at Northamptonshire County Cricket Club. He is also highly experienced with adolescents and young adults, having worked with students at Stowe School and at Cambridge University, an area that needs its own approach because a growing body is not a smaller adult one.
He is a committed advocate of evidence-based practice, and puts the person at the centre of it: guiding, supporting, and keeping the work as manageable as it can be. That mix of elite sports experience and everyday rehabilitation is exactly what Hanbury is built to offer, whatever your starting point.

Co-Founder & Director of Physiotherapy
Simon Jones
M.Phil · BSc (Hons) · HCPC-registered · MCSP · Chartered Physiotherapist · Registered non-medical prescriber
Simon Jones is a co-founder of Hanbury Health and a director of its physiotherapy service, working alongside Nick Allen to lead the team that Hanbury's physiotherapy is built on: Physix, established in 1998 and now part of Hanbury Health.
Simon qualified as a physiotherapist in 1992, after serving seventeen years as a commando paramedic. He treats on the same principle Hanbury is built around: care that is clinically sound and evidence-based, with no guesswork. He has a particular interest in clinical diagnostics, including diagnostic ultrasound and injection therapy, and is a registered non-medical prescriber, which means more of the assessment and management can happen in one place rather than being handed on.
His sports experience is considerable: he has worked with the Barbarians rugby club and the PGA European Tour, is physiotherapist to Cambridge University RUFC preparing players for the varsity match, and works with the Aston Martin GT Racing Team ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He values the full range, from elite athletes to people who have never played a sport in their life, because the fundamentals of good physiotherapy and robust strength work apply to everyone.
How we work together
One team, one plan
Most health problems get passed between people who never speak to each other. You see one person for the injury, another for the exercises, and a third for the movement, and it is left to you to join them up. Hanbury was built to remove that gap.
The four of us bring surgery and medical oversight, physiotherapy, and movement into a single coordinated method: Test, Train, Track, Transform. A physiotherapist can flag something for medical review the same week. A rehabilitation plan is delivered by the physiotherapy team and then progressed through Pilates and yoga that are prescribed as part of the plan, not chosen at random. The evidence behind all of it is reviewed by the same clinical standard. Your care is shaped by people who actually talk to one another.
It is also real continuity, not a rebrand. Hanbury brings together Physix, a Milton Keynes physiotherapy practice established in 1998, and Yogomotiv, an award-winning movement studio founded in 2016. Their directors are Hanbury's directors, and their clients are Hanbury's clients. The expertise you would have travelled between is now under one roof, working to one plan.
