The Healthspan Programme

Healthspan medicine in Milton Keynes: the complete picture of how your body works.

Coming Soon

Blood biomarkers, body composition, functional strength and cognition, measured in one structured morning and read together by a consultant. Starting with your biological age.

Why this is different

Five things a scan or a blood test on its own can't do.

01

Function, not just numbers or images.

We measure what your body can actually do, grip strength, gait speed, VO₂max, power, not only what a scan or a blood tube shows.

02

Connected, not separate.

A blood marker, a strength result and a cognitive score are read together, because in a real body they relate to each other. Not filed as four unrelated reports.

03

Closed loop.

The same coordinated team that finds something can treat it, through Hanbury's physiotherapy, Reformer Pilates and Yoga, or recovery pathways, and re-test to prove it changed, rather than handing over a PDF and a goodbye.

04

Immediate, then thorough.

A verbal steer from your consultant before you leave the building, so you're never waiting weeks to hear anything at all. The full written analysis follows within 7 days.

05

Built around your life, not a template.

Your report accounts for your actual week, work travel, training availability, family commitments, and turns findings into a schedule that fits around them, not a generic printed plan.

What it measures

Four domains, one morning, one report.

Each domain uses the specific testing technology it's named for. Nothing here is a rebrand of a standard health MOT.

Blood sample being labelled during Healthspan biomarker testing at Hanbury Health, Milton Keynes
01 · Blood

Blood biomarkers.

Fasted bloods · 27 markers

A fasted 27-marker panel generating a biological age and a cardiovascular risk score. Every marker is shown against both a standard clinical range and a tighter optimal target, so a result inside the normal range but drifting the wrong way is visible before it becomes a problem.

02 · Composition

Body composition & metabolism.

STYKU 3D scanning · UVIDA RMR

STYKU 3D body composition scanning captures a full millimetre-accurate map of shape, fat and lean tissue distribution, validated against DXA in peer-reviewed studies, with near-perfect scan-to-scan reproducibility. UVIDA resting metabolic rate testing measures how much energy your body actually burns at rest, the anchor for any nutrition or training plan. On Performance and Elite this also includes a direct breath-by-breath VO₂max test taken to exhaustion, closely matching laboratory testing.

03 · Function

Functional strength & movement.

VALD DynaMo · ForceDecks · ForceFrame · HumanTrak

VALD DynaMo grip strength, ForceDecks power and balance testing, gait speed and sit-to-stand form the core. On Performance and Elite this expands to the full VALD ForceFrame and HumanTrak suite plus UVIDA VO₂max on Performance and Elite: a breath-by-breath test taken to exhaustion that measures VO₂max directly, validated against a laboratory reference analyser, measuring what your body can do, not only what it looks like.

04 · Cognition

Cognition.

CNS Vital Signs computerised testing

CNS Vital Signs computerised testing across memory, processing speed, attention and reaction time. Re-tested on the same schedule with alternate test forms, so what you're tracking is real change over time, not a one-off score you can't put in context.

05 · Restore

Restore is the pillar behind this assessment.

Hormonal health, cellular health, environmental factors and toxic load, the slower-moving changes that shape how your body responds over time. The Healthspan Programme is how those changes become visible: measured objectively, read together, and acted on inside the same building.

The morning also draws on Recover, Move and Connect through its functional and cognitive testing, but Restore is its home.

The tiers

Three ways in. Same morning, different depth of follow-up.

Professor Arul Ramasamy

Every Healthspan Programme assessment is led by Professor Ramasamy, from the interview through to the interpretation of your results. That means the person reading your bloods, your strength numbers and your cognitive scores is the same person you sit across from at the end of the morning, and the same person who writes the plan you leave with.

An assessment is only as good as the reading of it. This is where that reading happens.

Verified patient reviews from Google

First time with Louise, who I saw with a shoulder injury. She made me feel at ease and went into a lot of detail and certainly put across she knew what she was talking about. She spent the time listening to me without me feeling like I was being rushed. Excellent result and no hesitation in recommending her.

Questions

Programme FAQs

A GP annual check tells you whether your bloods sit inside a standard clinical range. This measures more, 27 blood markers against both standard and tighter optimal targets, plus what your body can actually do (grip, gait, power, VO₂max, cognition) and how it's composed (STYKU 3D, resting metabolic rate). Every domain is read together rather than filed as four separate reports, and the same coordinated team that finds something can treat it inside the building and re-test to prove it changed.

The Healthspan Programme is part of the Restore pillar, and reaches into Recover, Move and Connect through its functional and cognitive testing, so the picture reflects the way your body actually works, not one system at a time.
