The HealthSpan Programme · Milton Keynes
Find out what's changing while it's still yours to change.
Most of what will shape your next thirty years is happening quietly, and a standard blood test cannot see it. This is the first assessment in Milton Keynes to measure your bloods, your body, your strength and your memory in one morning, then read them together.
You leave with a plan, and a team who can act on it.
This is Hanbury's approach to longevity medicine: measuring what is changing now, while there is still time to influence what happens next.
Most people leave knowing two or three things about themselves they did not know that morning.

The blind spot
Your bloods came back normal. That is not the same as being fine.
A cholesterol reading can look normal while the number of artery-damaging particles behind it does not. That is ApoB, and it is not on a standard panel.
Lp(a) is largely set by your genes, does not respond to diet or exercise, is raised in roughly one in five people, and is almost never tested. It is also absent from the risk calculator your GP uses.
Your blood sugar can read normal for years while your body works harder and harder to keep it there. Fasting insulin shows that. HbA1c is the last thing to move, not the first.
How strong you are, how fast you produce force, how quickly your heart settles after effort and how sharp your memory is: no blood test measures any of it.
None of this means your GP was wrong. It means they were answering a narrower question.
Who this is for
Two reasons people book. One morning.
You feel broadly well, but you have started noticing things.
Energy that fades earlier in the day than it used to. Recovery that takes longer after a hard week or a hard session. A family history you find yourself thinking about more often than you once did. Nothing that sends you to a doctor, and nothing you can currently put a number on.
You want to stay capable, not merely alive.
Independence, strength and staying sharp are the point. You would rather understand where you stand now, while there is time to change the direction of travel, than find out at seventy what was quietly happening at fifty.
Both routes lead to the same morning, and the same four measurements read together.
The gap
Why nobody near you does this
A postal blood panel or a high-street health MOT, somewhere between £100 and £700. It measures blood and nothing else, and it ends with a printout.
Or a London executive screen running into five figures, plus two hours on a train, with nobody locally to act on it afterwards.
Blood, body composition, physical function and cognition, measured in one morning and read together by one consultant, with the same team able to treat what it finds and re-test to prove it moved.
This is what longevity medicine looks like when it is done properly: everything a longevity clinic in Milton Keynes should measure, read together in one morning.
£995 to £3,850
The gap between those two columns is the reason this exists.
Anyone can test you. Almost nobody can then do anything about it.
A postal panel sends you numbers. A London screen sends you home with findings and two hours of travel between you and anyone who can act on them. Both leave you holding a document and a decision you are not qualified to make on your own.
Here, the person who reads your results is the person who writes your plan. The experts, the gym, the recovery suite and the re-test are in the same building, twenty minutes from your house rather than a train ride away. When something needs treating, the team who found it treats it. When you re-test in six months, it is the same people looking at the same numbers, and they can tell you whether it moved.
That is the difference between finding out and changing it.
What you actually find out
Four domains, one morning, one report.
Four questions people arrive with, and what each measurement answers.

Is anything building that I cannot feel yet?
50 biomarkers, including ApoB, Lp(a), fasting insulin, homocysteine and hormones. Each one is shown against both a standard clinical range and a tighter optimal target, so a result sitting inside normal but drifting the wrong way is visible. Fasted panel, results in three days.
Fasted 50-biomarker panel, centrifuged on site

Where is my weight actually sitting, and how much muscle have I got?
A full map of shape, fat and lean tissue distribution, alongside how much energy your body burns at rest. Visceral fat can sit above optimal at a completely normal BMI, which is exactly the sort of thing a set of scales will never tell you.
STYKU 3D scanning · UVIDA resting metabolic rate

What can my body actually do?
Grip strength, force plate testing including rate of force development, side-to-side asymmetry and balance, plus a submaximal test that estimates your VO₂ max and sets your training zones, with heart rate recovery measured alongside it.
VALD · UVIDA

Is my memory actually going, or does it just feel that way?
Computerised testing across memory, processing speed, attention and executive function, scored against age-matched norms and repeatable with alternate test forms. Most people find the reassurance as valuable as the finding.

Two worked examples
What one morning found, and what happened next. Both are drawn from the full sample reports, which you can read in full below.
A 52-year-old marketing director.
Broken sleep for over a year, weight settling around her middle, and a GP who checked her thyroid, found it normal, and put the rest down to the menopause.
Her body is running four years ahead of the calendar.
Biological age 56, against a chronological 52
The particles that actually carry cholesterol into an artery wall are well above target.
ApoB 1.24 g/L, with an optimal under 0.80
An inherited risk marker that sits on no standard panel and in no risk calculator. Her QRISK3 came back at 4%.
Lp(a) 210 nmol/L
Below the norm for her age, and her mother fractured a hip at 76, which makes this the number she cares most about.
Grip strength 22 kg, against a norm of 27 kg
Priority one: lower ApoB, and build the strength reserve.
Lp(a) does not move with diet or training, so every other lever that does move gets pulled harder. That means an ApoB target agreed with her consultant, and a progressive loading programme built to put measurable strength back on, with grip and force plate testing repeated to show whether it worked.
- Twice weeklyProgressive strength, coached, loaded and logged
- Twice weeklyReformer Pilates, for control and posture under load
- WeeklyInfrared sauna, on a sleep-first protocol
- At six monthsBloods, grip and force plates repeated on the same equipment

Restore is the pillar behind this assessment.
Hormonal health, cellular health, environmental factors and toxic load, the slower-moving changes that shape how your body responds over time. The Healthspan Programme is how those changes become visible: measured objectively, read together, and acted on inside the same building.
The morning also draws on Recover, Move and Connect through its functional and cognitive testing, but Restore is its home.
Your day, from arrival to report
One structured morning.
The full Performance and Elite morning, timed end to end. Foundation runs a shorter version of the same morning, around three hours, since it excludes the VO₂max station and full strength suite.

Led by
Professor Arul Ramasamy
MA(Cantab) · PhD · MBA · FRCS(Tr+Orth) · FFSEM
Every Healthspan Programme assessment is led by Professor Ramasamy, from the interview through to the interpretation of your results. That means the person reading your bloods, your strength numbers and your cognitive scores is the same person you sit across from at the end of the morning, and the same person who writes the plan you leave with.
An assessment is only as good as the reading of it. This is where that reading happens.
We routinely communicate with your GP so that your care can be continued, or recommend an appropriate specialist if required.

Questions
Programme FAQs
It is a structured assessment that measures four things in one morning and reads them together: 50 blood biomarkers, body composition, physical function and cognition. A GP annual check tells you whether your bloods sit inside a standard clinical range. This measures more, including ApoB, Lp(a), fasting insulin and homocysteine, against both standard and tighter optimal targets, plus what your body can actually do and how sharp your thinking is. Every domain is read together in one combined report by one consultant, and the same team that finds something can act on it and re-test to show whether it moved.
